Animation

My concept of animation developed from seeing such films as Fantasia, by Walt Disney Studios. The pairing of music with bright colors and mythological themes excites the imagination. Creating such an imaginary world, where the impossible seems possible, the inspired animator has the opportunity for expression on many levels. I am producing my current projects using the modeling and animation software program called MAYA, by Autodesk. Some image stills from the animation, Learning to Try, are shown below. The animated short, "Learning to Try", won Best-in-Show at the West Valley College 2005 Film Festival and the Grand Festival Award in Animation at the Berkeley Video and Film Festival 2005. The bee was modeled and rigged by Jeremy Rambis at West Valley College. View a clip of Learning to Try on IMDb or view the entire short here or on MySpace Video.

I began studing 3D modeling, animation and rendering with Prof. Chris Cryer at West Valley College in Saratoga. Click on the thumbnails below to see larger images.
